World Families brings international students ages 11-17 to the United States to participate in unforgettable cultural experiences. Our students learn about various aspects of American culture, society and customs while living with American host families. Through the students' daily activities and interactions, they learn about the US, and have a chance to share the ideas, customs and culture from their home country with their host families, peers and communities. By opening their homes to a young student from another country, families have the opportunity to share themselves while gaining broader views of the world and friendships that last a lifetime. SUMMER HOSTING Brief youth hosting programs focus on friendship and fun. Enjoy the friendship of a young international teen and the fun of including a new family member in your activities for 1-3 week periods in late July to early August. Your schedule is the exchange student's schedule. Students arrive in chaperoned groups. Both students and families have the support of the English-speaking chaperone for the program duration. ACADEMIC
YEAR HOSTING (High School) Mid-August to Mid-June, host families provide room and board to an international student while they attend an area public high school. Host families are not paid; they host our students to learn about another culture, to share their life with a student from another country, and to reap the many other benefits of hosting. Local support networks are in place to assist families and students. |
