Sheila Dolak
Founder and Executive Director

Sheila provides leadership for World Families, working with our Board
of Directors and partner organizations. She develops our community of
host families, conducts orientations, and gives cultural presentations.
Prior to establishing World Families, Sheila provided national
coordination for the 4-H Japanese Exchange Program for 12 years. The
Program includes opportunities for youth and adults, with both
short-term and academic year exchanges. She administered all
aspects
of the operation, including budget and strategic planning, state
coordinator training, materials development, event management,
coordination of travel services, and liaison with exchange partners in
Japan, as well as the greater exchange community. She also has 10 years
experience in education; four years as a teacher at the high school
level and six years experience as a counselor in diverse K-12 settings.
Sheila received a B.S. in Education from Colorado State University and
earned her M.S. in Instructional Media from Utah State
University.
Additionally, she attained Post M.S. Counseling Certification from the
University of Alaska.

Damon Berbert,
PMP
Project Manager

Damon manages the World Families office, IT systems,
conducts orientations, and gives cultural presentations.
Damon has four years experience in administering international exchange
programs on behalf of 4-H. He received his B.A. from
Brigham Young
University in Japanese Language Studies and Business Management.
Damon is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). He
lived
in Japan for two years doing volunteer work, teaching English as a
second language, as well as becoming proficient in Japanese.
Damon has
six years experience as a youth leader in community and church
activities.
